Shawn Arthur Jensen, age 53, passed away on June 15, 2025-Father's Day.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Jensen.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Amundson; his brothers, Rick Jensen and Duane Jensen; and his sister, Nicole Fenton.
Shawn was the kind of man who left a lasting impression-whether you met him once or knew him your whole life. He had a big heart, a strong spirit, and a deep love for the simple, meaningful things in life: the outdoors, good times with friends, and Minnesota sports.
He grew up in SilverBay where his love for hunting and fishing began early. He also lived in Beulah, North Dakota for a few years before moving to Farmington, Minnesota, and that's where he really came into his own. He made friends easily-he had a way about him that made people feel welcome, like they belonged. No matter where he was, he could strike up a conversation, share a laugh, and leave you smiling.
For 29 years, he worked at the post office, showing up day after day with a strong work ethic and a commitment to doing his job right. He took pride in his work, and the people he worked with knew they could count on him-not just for a job well done, but for a good story, a joke, or just someone to talk to.
Outside of work, he was in his element when he was outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and be out in nature. Whether it was a crisp fall morning in a deer stand or a summer day on the lake, that's where he felt most at peace. And when the day was done, he was ready to celebrate-he loved to have a good time, and he never passed up a chance to enjoy life.
For the last 15 years, he shared his life with his partner, Julie Dahly who stood by his side through it all.
He was a die-hard Vikings fan and loved cheering on the Minnesota Wild. Win or lose, he stood by his teams-just like he stood by his friends and family.
Shawn had a way of making life more fun. He was genuine, loyal, and had a laugh you could hear across the room. He brought people together, and he'll be missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Though he's gone, the stories, the memories, the laughs-they stay with us. And every time we cast a line, crack a cold one, or cheer on the Vikings, we'll feel him there with us.
Rest easy, Shawn You lived life your way, and we'll never forget you.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at White Funeral Home, located at 901 Third Street, Farmington, MN, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM.
