Shawnesha Jones Obituary

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." ~ Hebrews 9:27
Shawnesha Nicole Jones, 40, of Tallahassee, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Monday, July 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and the peace of her Savior.
Her celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 26, at Monticello Community Temple Church Of God In Christ, located at 630 Holly Street, in Monticello, Fla. Public viewing will take place from 4 p.m to 6 p.m., on Friday, July 25, at the same location. She will be laid to rest at New Zion M.B. Church Cemetery, in Greenville, Fla.
A native of Harvey, Ill., Shawnesha was born on Aug. 27, 1984, to Stanley Jones, Sr. and the late Tangala Anderson Jones. She was a bright light from the very beginning-radiating joy, warmth and a spirit that would go on to touch countless lives. Raised in Madison, Fla., she was a proud graduate of Madison County High School, Class of 2002, and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree-a reflection of her tenacity and commitment to growth.
For the past decade, Shawnesha made Tallahassee her home, where she served faithfully in various roles across state agencies, most recently with the Florida Department of Transportation. A woman of remarkable work ethic and quiet excellence, she approached every task with intentionality, compassion and pride.
More than her professional accomplishments, Shawnesha was defined by her loving spirit and generosity. She was a devoted mother to her three beautiful children-Christian Kaleb Jones, Carter Khalil Jennings and Christie Kaylan Jones-whom she raised with unmatched care and unwavering dedication. Everything she did, she did for them.
Shawnesha's kitchen was a sacred space, where love took the form of homemade meals and unforgettable desserts. A gifted cook and passionate baker, her cakes were the centerpiece of family gatherings and a testament to the sweetness of her soul.
A member of Monticello Community Temple Church Of God In Christ, Shawnesha's faith deepened in her final season. She recommitted her life to Christ, and with a heart made whole, she transitioned in peace-resting in the promise of eternal life.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved children: Christian, Carter and Christie; her loving father, Stanley Jones, Sr.; brothers, Michael (Elizabeth) Jones and Stanley, Jr. (Sara) Jones; and maternal grandmother, Mother Mattie Anderson. She will also be lovingly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her Monticello Community Temple COGIC family.
Though her earthly chapter has closed, Shawnesha's legacy of love, faith and grace lives on in every life she touched.
"Her living was not in vain."
