Christiane C. Payton of Richland Hills, TX, passed away peacefully on
Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by the family she cherished
above all else. She was born in Lérouville, France, and began her
career as a secretary for the Army at the Depot in Vitry-le-François.

In 1964, she married the love of her life, Stephen R. Payton. Their
love affair was the stuff of legends. Everyone who entered their orbit
could see how deeply they adored one another-not only as husband and
wife, but as best friends and true soulmates. Now, they are together
again, just as it was always meant to be.

Being a wife and mother were her proudest achievements. She dedicated
her life to creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love.
She welcomed everyone with open arms, always striving to make her
house the house where friends, neighbors, and family gathered to make
memories.

She loved antiquing and reading, and she had a creative spirit that
shone in everything she did. Whether she was sewing costumes,
painting, macraméing, or shaping pottery, she found joy in bringing
beauty to the world with her hands.

Above all, she will be remembered for her caring heart, her
generosity, and the countless memories she created with the people she
loved.

Christiane is survived by her daughter Jennifer Gibson, son-in-law
David Gibson, grandson Connor McLean, grandchild Meghan Gibson, sister
Micheline Caragneto, and various nieces & nephews. She was preceded in
death by husband Stephen, son Christopher, brother Robert, and sister
Jacqueline.

A service to celebrate her remarkable life will be held on Monday,
Sept. 29 at 11:00 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, TX. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the
Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
