Shellie DeJon Pylant passed away on July 17, 2025, in Sherman, Texas.
She was born on January 31, 1966, in Clovis, New Mexico to Roy Pylant, Jr. and Ina Faye Thomas.
Shellie was the "Baby" of 5 girls. She is survived by her sisters, Sherri Pylant Rocher and husband, Eddie of Florida, Pamela Pylant Williams and husband, Michael of Sherman, Texas, Sandy Pylant Garland of Sherman, Texas, Pennie Pylant and partner, Chris Hall of Durant, Oklahoma and one brother, Perrin Scott Pylant of Dallas, Texas. She also leaves behind a host of nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; her "Best Friend for Life", Shanna Kellogg of Grapevine; her "Adopted Sister", Donna Bell of Denison, Texas; her roommate, Mrs. Cleta Richardson, that Shellie called "Granny".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ina Faye Thomas and Roy Pylant, Jr.; stepmother, DJ Pylant; grandparents, Alvis W. and Fannie Thomas of Terrell, Texas and Ina Irene Watson of West Monroe, LA; niece, Skyla Simone Pylant; nephew, Hunter Scott Pylant. Her "Furbabies", JoJo and Juno Vaughn also preceded her, they happily greeted her in Heaven.
Shellie was successful in life! She traveled extensively in U.S. and Europe even after spinal surgery at 25 years old had left her disabled and enjoyed hanging out with her friends and family. Shellie was funny, sarcastic, smart, and beautiful. She loved to play cards, games and dominoes with our late Dad. Music was her great love; she played the saxophone in the band and loved rock music.
Shellie was a great cook and loved to feed her family and friends.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at Fisher Funeral Home located at 604 W. Main St. in Denison, Texas on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. We welcome everyone to visit and celebrate her life.
