Mrs. Shelva “Shelby” Dawn Bryant Cox, 86, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025. She was born May 7, 1939 in Surry County to the late Ott and Estie Bryant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JB Cox; her brother, Odean Bryant; her sister, Bobbie Dietz; and two great-grandchildren, Samuel Moore and Silas Moore. Mrs. Cox was retired from Walmart where she loved her co-workers and customers. She enjoyed QVC shopping, anything chocolate, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Dawn Beckerdite, Michelle (Danny) Martin; grandchildren, Katie (Thomas) Molnar, Celia (Clint) McGlamery, Cassie (Jared) Burchette, Carley (Brandon) Phillips, Ethan (Brianna) Henderson, Hannah (Tyler) Moore, Faith Martin; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brody, Bentley, Nolan, Wade, Lydia, and Raelyn. The family will receive friends, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Marler Road Baptist Church in Hamptonville. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Cox Family.
