Shelvia J. Fox, 83, of New Oxford, PA, died Sunday, February 23, 2025 at UPMC Hanover. Born July 29, 1941 in Taneytown, she was the daughter of the late Elmer G. Rippeon and Helen Weishaar Shoemaker. She was raised by Charles and Dorothy Schildt.
She was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, Walter Fox who died in 2010, son Terry Shifflett, granddaughter Carly Utz, sisters Arlene Stahley, Lois Smith, and Esther Gilmore, brothers Thomas, Elmer, Wayne Rippeon and Paul Heffner.
Before retiring she worked at Cambridge Rubber Co., Black and Decker and Safeway.
She enjoyed traveling in her retirement years, Bingo, NASCAR races, Lincoln Speedway, TV game shows, gardening and watching Jimmy Swaggert. She attended Taneytown High School.
She is survived by four children Charles "Frank" Baugher, Jr. (Leah) of Westminster; Kimberly Thompson (Robert) of Keymar; Constance "Connie" Nash of Manchester and Tammy Bankert and fiancé Kenneth Good of New Oxford, PA and stepson, Patrick Fox. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
