Sherril Kay Walters was born on November 11, 1938, in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Olaf Raymond Walters and Lois Verda (Taylor) Walters. She passed away on July 14, 2025, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 3 days.
Sherril graduated from Northeastern State University in 1960 and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to begin her long career in elementary education. She later earned a master's degree. She touched the lives of many children and continued to teach until her retirement.
Sherril was preceded in death by her parents, Olaf and Lois Walters and one nephew, Shawn Walters.
She leaves behind one brother, Joe and wife Patsy Walters, one nephew, Barry and wife Jacki Walters, one great-niece, Aubree Walters, and one great-nephew, Reed Walters.
