Sherry Gore, age 89, of Cresskill, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2025.
She is survived by her children: Tyler C. Gore, and his wife, Leigh Ramsaywack-Gore; Brad Gore, and his partner, Jessica Liu; and Christy Gore, and her husband, Donny Carter, and their three children.
Sherry was a professional dancer and actress. A gifted performer, she began her career at the age of three. She went on to appear in numerous Broadway productions including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Seventeen, Hazel Flagg, Mr. Wonderful, and Showboat; and was also frequently cast as a lead dancer in summer stock productions such as Carousel, Oklahoma!, and Brigadoon. She worked alongside prominent figures in the entertainment industry, such as Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Herman, Milton Berle, and Charles Nelson Reilly. In the early days of television, Sherry was a featured dancer on Toast of the Town, which would later become The Ed Sullivan Show. Sherry also appeared in commercials and modeled for magazines.
Beyond her career, Sherry had a deep love for animals -cats especially. She supported animal rescue organizations for decades and was personally involved in countless rescue efforts throughout her life.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, July 2, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Barrett Leber Funeral Home, 148 Dean Drive, Tenafly, New Jersey, to honor her life and legacy.
