James Davis Obituary

James (Jim) Peter Davis (March 29, 1949 - October 10, 2025) of Van Buren Township died at age 76 on Friday, October 10th, 2025. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and "Pop Pop". He cherished spending time with his beloved family. His wife, Peggy Davis (Eaton) was his best friend and the love of his life. He was a loving father to Sarah (Phil) Bargardi and Matthew (Ashlee) Davis, and a proud grandfather to Luca and Zoey Bargardi. He also leaves behind his brother, Dane Davis, with whom he shared many good memories. He is preceded in death by Walter Davis and Betty Davis (Christensen).

Jim loved to garden. He would often grow tomatoes and peppers and make his own salsa. He also took great pleasure in tending to his chickens. He was a skilled carpenter and often engaged in home improvement projects, always striving to make his family home a warm and welcoming place. He loved to travel, especially to Mexico and South Haven, Michigan. An avid fan of Detroit sports, Jim could often be found cheering on the Tigers and the Lions. He also enjoyed cooking, especially preparing meals for those he loved. A kind and genuine soul, Jim was always able to put people at ease and make them smile. He would drop everything to help those that he loved.

James will be missed dearly by his family and close friends. His memory will be forever cherished. The family will be holding an inurnment at 3:00pm on Saturday, October 18th (no formal indoor service). Those interested in joining the procession to the niche are encouraged to meet at 2:45pm at Michigan Memorial Funeral Home at 30895 W. Huron River Drive in Flat Rock, MI. A celebration of life will follow at JT's Pub at 41111 Huron River Drive in Belleville, MI.

His cremation will take place at "The Witness Crematory" located inside of Michigan Memorial Funeral Home.
