Shirley Ann Vice Conway, age 84, of Sunset Road, Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Life Care Center in Morehead.
She was born June 17, 1940, in Tilton, Kentucky, and was a daughter of the late Arthur Vice and Margarete Campi Vice and was raised by her late aunt and uncle, Jay and Ruby McClain McRoberts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Conway on April 18, 2024, and one brother, Wendell Vice.
Mrs. Conway is survived by one daughter, Robin (Gary) Heiny of Gas City, Indiana; two sons, Wayne (Pattiey) Conway of Hillsboro and Raymond (Christie) Conway of Huntsville, South Carolina; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
She retired from RCA in Marion, Indiana, after 15 ½ years of service and was a former clerk at the Hillsboro Post Office. Shirley was a member of Flemingsburg Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834 Ladies Auxiliary and American Legion Post No. 5, where she also served as President, a member of Flemingsburg Eastern Star, where she served as Past Matron, and a member of Flemingsburg Homemakers, where she served as President.
Shirley was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed reading, flower gardening, bird watching, especially hummingbirds, and spending time with family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery. A dinner will follow at the Hillsboro Christian Church.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Hutton Funeral Home, 7634 Hillsboro Road, Hillsboro, KY 41049. At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, An Eastern Star memorial service will be presented by Morehead Chapter #227.
