Shirley Copeland Obituary
Shirley J. Copeland, 74, passed away on April 6, 2025.
Born in Akron to the late Johnnie and Blanch Holt, she was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Norton High School and retired from Summa Akron City Hospital after 33 years. Shirley enjoyed quilting, reading, and hiking at the Metro Parks. She was also very interested in her ancestry and loved to work on her family tree.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lee Miracle and Ronnie Holt; and great grandson, Lucas. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ronald A. Copeland; children, Jewel M. Helsel, Timothy A. Copeland, Amy L. (Darren C.) Hurst; grandchildren, Shelly, Ashley, Nichole, Willow, Matthew, Rebecca; great grandchildren, Tristan and Elisabeth; brother, Marvin Holt.
Family and friends will be received Monday, April 14th from 10 to 11am at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 11am with burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
