Shirley Everding Obituary

A memorial service for Shirley will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Ramsey Reformed Church in rural Titonka. Burial will be held in Buffalo Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Shirley Jane Arnold was born on October 8, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Jay and Beulah (Blanshan) Arnold. She graduated from Charles City High School and began her career in Forest City, working at Jacobs Store and Don Anderson Insurance.
In February of 1948, Shirley married Dean Hodson, and together they had two children, Steve and Barb. After Dean's passing, Shirley found love again and was married to William Everding on March 25, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Lake Mills, and together they had three children, David, Lois and Amy. Shirley and William farmed together, and she spent 18 years serving as a cook at the Titonka Care Center.
Shirley had a deep love for her family and enjoyed gardening, homemaking, and participating in birthday clubs. She treasured the time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren, who brought her much joy and happiness.
Shirley died Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Titonka Care Center. She was 100.
She is survived by her children, Steve Hodson of Lake Mills, David (Renee) Everding of Sibley, Lois (Myron) Heittola of Bellville, WI, Amy (Tim) Kuehler of Early; a son-in-law, Tim Palmer of Forest City; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Joyce Arnold and Katrinia Everding.
Preceding her in death are her parents; first husband, Dean; second husband, William; daughter, Barb Palmer; granddaughter, Kacey Puffer; great-grandson, Knox Owen Palmer; brother, Louis Arnold; and sisters-in-law, Margaret Everding, Ruth Everding and Clara Everding.
