Shirley M. Riley, 85, of Grant Park, IL, died on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. She was born on August 4, 1939, in Grant Park, IL, the daughter of Albert L. and Wuanita (Smith) Schneider. She married Billy D. Riley on May 21, 1960, at the Sherburnville Chrisitan Church in Grant Park, IL. He survives.
She is survived by her husband, Billy D. Riley of Grant Park, IL. Two daughters and sons-in-law; Sandy and Joe Mitchell of Momence, IL and Debbie and Kevin Mussman of Grant Park, IL. Her two brothers; Roger Schneider of Grant Park, IL, and Glen Schneider of Grant Park, IL. Her sister-in-law; Judy Schneider also of Grant Park, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren; Jason Mitchell, Kaitlyn (Lawrence) Coleman, Christopher (Lisa) Mussman, Jennifer (Steve) Radostits, and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Mussman, and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters; Sharon Carlin and Opal Phillips, her brother; Dean Schneider, and sisters-in-law; Jalene Schneider and Lynne Schneider, and two brothers-in-law; James Phillips and Richard Carlin.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Whitaker Grain Elevator and as a supervisor at the Michael-Leonard Seed Company, both of Grant Park, IL. She was a member of the St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Grant Park, IL. Shirley enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as bowling. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
