Sidney Pate Obituary
He was born to Oscar Lee and Ella Mae Pate on September 9, 1940, in Clanton, Alabama. He lived a lifetime of service. Joining the Navy after high school, he proudly served his country and afterward started a career in Law Enforcement. He retired from Alabaster Police Department after eighteen years of service, where his colleagues affectionately nick named him "Sgt. Pa Pa". He loved helping people and really loved his family and friends.
Sidney enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He was the best shot on the Police force and had trophies to prove it. He loved to ride motorcycles, could drive like a bandit and loved to cut his grass. He also loved a little dog names Banjo. Sid had a great sense of humor, an easy smile and enjoyed everyone he met. He leaves behind a lot of good friends because he was a good friend.
Pa Pa Pate is survived by his Daughter, Lori (Tim) Culver. Grandchildren, Amber Giles, Shannon (James) Henry, Austin (Jordan) Culver and Emilee Culver. He had seven great-grand children, Emma, Aubrey, Ezra, Iris, Cami, Ellie and Owen.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Sandra Pate; Father, Oscar Lee Pate; Mother, Ella Mae Pate; Sisters, Dot Robinson and Peggy Davenport..

Friends will be received Monday, September 30, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church #1.
Funeral Service will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist #1 Church.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist #1 Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama.
