Sonja Faye Bryant, born on December 4, 1938, in Rankin County, passed away peacefully at her home on July 20, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, known for her vibrant personality and warm spirit.
Sonja graduated from high school and began her professional journey at Lester and Witcher Abstract Company, where she skillfully managed oil leases. She would later continue her dedicated service as an Administrative Assistant with the Mississippi Department of Health until her retirement.
A woman of many talents, Sonja had a bubbly personality that drew people in. She enjoyed socializing with everyone around her and was known to brighten any room with her big heart and beautiful smile. Her love for the beauty shop was evident as she made it a weekly ritual every Thursday. Cooking was another passion; her pecan pies and strawberry pies were especially beloved by family and friends.

In her younger days, she was a star basketball player, showcasing her competitive spirit. She shared a deep love for the outdoors with her husband, Buck, with whom she enjoyed camping trips surrounded by family. It was not unusual to see Sonja tending to her lawn, happily riding her lawn mower around her home.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Sybil Burnham (Lennis-deceased), Margaret Bowman (Charles), Shirley Rainer (Harvey), Mary Frances Lofton, Tommy Ray Gordon (Vickie), Kenneth A. Gordon; brother-in-law, Hollie Easley. Sonja also treasured many close friends who will fondly remember her spirit.
