Stanley M. Hartzler
1930-2025
Pattonsburg, MO: Stanley M. Hartzler, 94, of Pattonsburg, MO, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at a Cameron, MO veterans' home.
He was born on July 19, 1930, in Ovid, Michigan, the son of John Samuel and Martha Fern (Morningstar) Hartzler.
On August 9, 1953, he married Joan Lumm in La Grange, Indiana. She preceded him in death.
Stanley served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. He was a dairy farmer in Minnesota and kept farming for many years. He custom dried grain for local farmers and was an exceptionally skilled mechanic, working on and maintaining all his machinery and vehicles. He enjoyed going to and having tractor pulls when ever having family over as well as going on hayrides. He loved to hunt deer and coons and also enjoyed going fishing. Stanley never knew a stranger and made new friends whenever he could. He worked hard and knew how to relax hard just taking off some days to go look and get lost. He was a member of the Coffey Lion's club for several years.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Nalle; son-in-law, John Jones; sister, Elizabeth Engert; and brother, John Hartzler.
Stanley is survived by his daughters, Pam McCrary, Cameron, MO, April Jones, Lowrey City, MO, and Robin (Roger) Rhodes, Brookfield, MO; grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Shannon McCrary, Henry Nalle, Bryan Nalle, Sarah Tate, and Nick Rhodes; sister, Phyllis Haarer, Michigan; sister-in-law, Barbara Pelfrey; aunt, Marilyn Morningstar, Minnesota; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28 at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, Pattonsburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the VA Assistance League at the Cameron Veterans' Home in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 152, Pattonsburg, MO 64670.
