COATS, Stephan Robert – of Clio, formerly of Grand Blanc, age 67, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 30, 2025, at his residence. Honoring his wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Inurnment at Pinegrove Cemetery in Arbela Township to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society or Genesee County Animal Control.
Stephan was born on May 11, 1958, in Flint, to Robert and Eleanore Coats. He attended Grand Blanc High School before graduating from Oak Creek High School in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, and retired from General Motors. Stephan was a faithful Lutheran who knew and loved his Lord. In his spare time, he enjoyed keeping up with his favorite sports teams – especially the Chicago Cubs, and he was very knowledgeable in all sports. Stephan had a soft spot for animals and during his younger years, he liked going on family trips to Gaylord. Above all, Stephan loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Stephan is forever remembered by: Siblings: Susan (Jack) Young and Richard (Debbie) Coats; Several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Stephan was preceded in death by: Parents, Robert and Eleanore; Sister, Sharon Brown.
