Stephen Chantry Obituary

Stephen Lee Chantry, known affectionately as Big Dawg and Tango, was born on January 8, 1980, in Fontana, CA, and passed away on July 13, 2025 in Hooper, UT. Stephen was known for his big heart, infectious laughter, and love for all things adventurous. Born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his faith profoundly shaped his life, instilling in him the passion to serve all walks of life. As noted in Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve," Stephen embodied this verse, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Stephen made his mark in the world as an accomplished trucker and was a proud member of the KOSP truck club, as well as bikers against child abuse. His professional achievements were numerous, but Stephen's life was about much more than work. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, whether it was tying his sister's hair to a chair, riding his motorcycle on open roads, or even stepping in as a last minute flower girl, overalls and all, at a close friends wedding, while eating one of his favorite snacks....a corn dog. Stephen had a knack for making the impossible possible, especially with his friend's endeavors. He was a familiar sight at monster truck rallies and demolition derbies, and he was always ready for a smoking cookout or a playdate at the sand dunes. Stephen was a jack of all trades, a blessing that helped him serve his friends and family.
Stephen is survived by his loving mother, Theresa Chantry (Roy, UT), and his siblings, Diane (Erik) Stromberg (Grantsville, UT), Heather (Layne) Hansen (Smithfield, UT), Lori (Brian) Anderson (Sunset, UT), and Jonathan Chantry (West Haven, UT). He is preceded in death by his father, David Chantry.
Stephen's life will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday evening at Myers Mortuary in Roy from 7:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and also from 9:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m. at the same location.
