Stephen Joe Henderson was born on April 8, 1975, in Oklahoma City, OK, and passed away at the age of 50, with his loving parents by his side. In 1979, Stephen and his family moved to Yukon, OK, where he later graduated from Yukon High School in 1993. A self-taught guitar player, Stephen had a remarkable talent for string instruments and a deep love for the blues. He enjoyed a fulfilling professional career teaching music to students and also worked at the FAA, training individuals to become air traffic controllers. Among his many accomplishments, he won the Odyssey of the Mind competition and was an avid reader. Stephen was preceded in death by his sister, Laurie Henderson; his brother, David Henderson; and his sister-in-law, Jean Henderson. He is survived by his devoted parents, Gene and Becky Henderson. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK.

I am so very thankful that in my life I have had a friend like Stephen Henderson. We spent countless hours discussing just about everything. Stephen had a vast knowledge in diverse subjects. I kept a cheap acoustic guitar on a stand close to where he sat when he came over, and he would play incredible music as we talked.
The last time I saw Stephen we met for lunch. We talked until they closed the restaurant at 2:00, then stood on the sidewalk out front and talked for another hour and a half. He was my dear friend and there is a large void now in my life with Stephen's absence. Rest in paradise Stephen, and I'll see you on the other side my friend.
