Stephen Schneider, 75, of NE Minneapolis: Collector of light, Collector of words, Collector of hearts (maybe yours), passed peacefully on December 26, 2024. He trusted his path had been traveled and his time completed, albeit with a few more project ideas brewing.
Survived by his love light, partner and wife of 31 years, Karen Rossbach; His half-brother Anthony (Tony) Schneider, former spouse and family friend Denny Scharlemann (Bob),and chosen brother Ed Elliott.
Also survived by Brothers-in-law: Dennis, Daniel (Vera), Paul (Heather). and Robert (Tracy) Rossbach, and Sisters in law: Pattie Rossbach (Clay) and Romaine Scharlemann (Rich), as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Martha Eastman (Ray) and Edward Schneider (surviving wife Jeanne) and in-laws George and Bernadette Rossbach.
Steve attended Washburn High School, Macalester College and the University of Minnesota, He served as a navigator in the US Air Force, was an adjunct professor at the U of M School of Journalism, worked for the TSA at Minneapolis International Airport and most significantly, was a published photographer and owner of Steve Schneider Photography in St. Paul.
Steve endured his illness with patience and grace. He was a walking temple of collective wisdom and peace. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Our deepest thanks to the doctors and nurses at the U of M Fulton ENT Clinic, Fulton Speech Therapy Clinic, Fulton Masonic Cancer Center and his St. Croix Hospice Team.
