Stephen Roger Smith, 44, of Andover, passed away July 7, 2025.
He was born April 6, 1981, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Roger Lee Smith and Julie May (Hodge) Hollis. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Pymatuning Valley High School Class of 1999.
Stephen was a jack of all trades and a talented carpenter. He always enjoyed lending a hand and offering his skills; tile work was among his favorites. Stephen was a daredevil and loved a good adrenaline rush. From working hundreds of feet on cellphone towers, quad racing, or riding his motorcycle, he was always looking for the next wild experience. Stephen enjoyed spending time with his best friend Shawn, who was his brother in spirit; they always had each other's back.
He is survived by his sons, Devan and Jansen Smith; mother and stepfather, Julie (Steve) Hollis; sisters, Sarah (Michael) Verlinde and Emily (Kevin) Brown; stepbrothers: Bobby Hollis and David (Pam) Hollis; stepsister, Ann (David) Zajac; grandson, Waylynn; many nieces, nephews, great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and loved ones.
Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Roger Smith, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the family.
