Sterling Marie Hartnett Obituary

Sterling Renee Marie Hartnett, affectionately known as "Strinka" passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in Greensboro, NC, after a short battle with lung cancer. Born on April 18, 1967, in New York City, Sterling was a beacon of warmth, joy and humor to all who knew her. Growing up, Sterling attended high school in Darien, Ct. She thrived in the restaurant business at a variety of locations including Beaufort Grocery Company in North Carolina. Beyond her career Sterling was a life-long avid reader. She enjoyed travel to locations including Great Britain, Mexico, India, Singapore, Australia, and Tahiti. Sterling loved the great outdoors and long walks embracing the beauty of North Carolina. She expressed herself through writing and painting. Sterling is survived by her mother Sarah Lee Hartnett, three siblings Brendan, Lee and Aaron and her stepmother Judy Hartnett. She loved spending time with her nieces Maggie and Olive. Sterling was aware of her impending demise and looked forward to joining her father, Paul Timothy Hartnett in the eternal well-being of Heaven. Sterling's ashes will be scattered in locations including Walter's Cemetery in Monroe, North Carolina.
