Steve Thomas Smith, 46, of Amarillo, TX died July 13, 2025.
A memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 South Osage.
Steve was born on January 19, 1979 in Gainesville, New York. He graduated from Palo Duro High School.
Stevie was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Smith; and nephew, Jaden Woodson.
He is survived by his father, Lonnie Gaither and wife Lila; sisters, Fay Smith, Gina Smith Love Gaither-Hase and husband David; nephews, Brandon Smith, Randy Smith, and Michael Ali; nieces, Lisa Smith Randish Smith, Randisha Smith, Hawa Ali, and Hawiwa Ali.
Stevie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved going to church camp, playing basketball, and running track in his younger days. Stevie also enjoyed playing video games, collecting cars, and arts and crafts. He loved watching movies with family and playing Angry Birds on his phone. Stevie also loved all of his fur babies, he will always be loved and greatly missed by his family.
To our brother, rest in peace. Be free of pain, you won the battle. Although we grieve reaching for your hand in vain, our faith is such that we believe that all of us shall meet again.
