Steven Douglas Barker 77, formerly of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Sacramento, and Los Gatos, CA, had passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday morning, June 10th 2025 at his home in St. Augustine Florida. He was born on December 2, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah of Jessie (nee' Nobel) and Col. Havelock William Barker, USAAF of Boston, MA and Aberdeen Scotland.
Steve had grown up as a 'military brat' attending many schools throughout the US, as his father was in the US Army Airforce serving in WWII, Korea and part of the Vietnam War before retiring. His parents settled in Sacramento, CA where Steve graduated from Encina Preparatory High School in 1965, then graduated from Cal State Sacramento in 1969.
After college, he joined the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) traveling the California circuit for a few years where he had won numerous championships which earned him many trophies and a PBA championship ring. His career after bowling was spent mostly in home sales and real estate in both California and in Pennsylvania. He worked for Long and Foster® Real Estate, Inc. in West Chester, PA.
Aside from bowling, Steve loved gardening and working on his house. He was a was a die-hard San Francisco 49er's fan and remained loyal to the team wherever he lived. His favorite dogs were beagles and he had raised them in California, but loved all the dogs he ever adopted no matter the breed.
