Sue C. Joseph, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her family, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, at Well's Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky, at the age of 80. Born on March 18, 1944, in Bledsoe, Kentucky, Sue spent her life nurturing her passions, which included flower gardening and deeply engaging with the lives of her family members.
Sue was an adored matriarch who leaves behind a legacy of love and unwavering support. She is survived by her children, Cassie Morgan, Stella Morgan, Jimmy Joseph and Misty, Johnny Joseph and Rose, Jerry Joseph and Marinda, Jeff Joseph and Eyronica, and Travis Joseph and Carla. Grandchildren who were raised as children: Todd Joseph and Frances, and Dalton Joseph and Brittany and Autumn Hensley and Hunter. Her influence extended through generations as she is also survived by a host of grand, great, and great-great-grandchildren. Her connection to family was further enriched by her daughter-in-law, Barb Joseph, and Brother Thomas Maggard and Sister Barbara Compton. She is also remembered fondly by her special niece, Geneva Brock.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Oral Maggard and Cassie Maggard, her husband, Frank Joseph, Sr., and two sons, Frank Joseph, Jr. and Jerald Joseph. She was also preceded by her great-grandson, Joey Ashton Bailey, and her siblings, Sonny Maggard, Donald Maggard, Betty LeFevers, and Patsy Maggard.
The profound impact Sue C. Joseph had on her family and community will be felt for generations to come. She will be remembered not only for her nurturing spirit and dedication to her family's happiness but also for her love of nature and the beauty she cultivated in her garden and in the hearts of those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, resilience, and familial bonds. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral: Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Kentucky
Ministers: Russell Baker and Trey Harper
Interment: Brown Cemetery, Bledsoe, Kentucky
Visitation: Sat. March 15th at 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Kentucky
