Sue Lynn (Brittain) Schulz, of Timpson, Texas, passed away May 24, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas with Bro. Cliff Hughes and Bro. Fred Wilcox officiating. Visitation will be held at 1 pm prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
Sue was born to Paul and Maudelle (Crump) Brittain on February 25, 1949, in Timpson, Texas. She attended LaMarque ISD. She met John Wayne Schulz at a young age, and they soon married on March 16, 1966. They were married 42 years until Johnny passed away in 2009. They moved to Timpson in 1970 where they raised four children and were blessed with seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Sue was an active member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until her health failed.
Her family looked forward to holidays and family gatherings to enjoy her cooking, especially the dressing and homemade rolls. Sue spent her life caring for others. She became a Certified Nurse Aide working at many local nursing homes, ending her career at Garrison Nursing Home. She also was a private caregiver, taking many in need into her home, to live out their last days with love and care.
She was very industrious and determined. Once she had an idea in her mind, she made it happen; from helping her children with carpentry/remodeling work on their homes to sewing special outfits for her grandchildren. She could build anything she set her mind to including dollhouses for her granddaughters, kennels to raise chihuahuas, a bird aviary and decks for the pool and hot tub.
In her later life, she enjoyed sitting with her beloved dog, Sissy, and looked forward to sibling game nights with her sister, Robin and brother, Joe and his family. Her passion became her flower garden and greenhouse where she spent most of her time in her last days.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Richard Baker and his staff for their many years of care and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Kidney Fund or Mt. Olive Cemetery.
