Kathryn Dorys Duncan Clark was born May 3, 1955 in Norfolk, Virginia. Surrounded by love and her family, she completed her transition to heaven March 8, 2025 after a long and courageous battle against metastatic melanoma. After having been a hairdresser for many years, Kathy decided to pursue her degree as a Medical Administrative Assistant. Working first at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, she later worked for Sentara Healthcare, retiring in 2022. Kathy loved people, loved decorating and designing beautiful spaces, and loved planning celebrations. She was the life of any party. She was also the first person to show up when anyone needed anything. She lived her life for others. Despite all that she accomplished, Kathy would be the first to tell you that her two boys were her greatest joys in life. She loved them with all her heart.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence G. (Bill) and Dorys R. Duncan, and her brothers Lawrence G. (Sonny) and Kenneth W. (Kenny) Duncan.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons L. Christopher Robbins (Denise) and Chad A. Robbins, both from Virginia Beach. Her grandchildren C.J. Robbins (Indiana), Tazia Cruz (Va. Beach), Kayla Henson (Tennessee), and Ethan Henson (Va. Beach); her great-grandchildren Chloe Mae and Zane Elmore, her sister Darlene Duncan Brink (Larry), nephew Lawrence G. (Billy) Duncan III, and niece Caitlyn R. Brotherton (Portsmouth). Additionally, as an adult, Kathy was fortunate to have had the opportunity to reunite with her birth family, sister Diane Fisher (North Carolina), and brother Bobby Wade (Jasmine) of Boston, MA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She loved us all.
Fly high, Kathy, knowing that your life here on earth was well lived. If able, please join us for her Celebration of Life Sunday, the 27th of April at the Wellsford Building, 881 Old Dam Neck Road, Va. Beach, Va. 23454 from 2 to 5 PM.
