Susie Johnson, 94, of Altamont died at 5:15 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025 at her daughter's home in Mason, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2025 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Susie Elwanda Johnson was born on Wednesday, July 23, 1930 in Moultrie Co. to William W. and Gertie Mae (Hissong) Scholes. She married James Earl Johnson in October 1954 and he preceded her in death on March 22, 1973. She was a retired manager at the VFW Post #7676 and was a homemaker.
She is survived by; her son, David (Debbie) Scholes; daughters, Vickey (Chris) Weaber and Shelly (Jim) Kline; grandchildren, Heather Biggs, Jeremy (Rachel) Scholes, Luke (Clarissa Hembree) Kline, Maranda Jenkins, Jamie (Jake) Ballinger, Lorrie Gray; great grandchildren, Hannah (Nate) Reisner, Taylor (Joey Caravello) Paquette, Aaden Kline, Owen Scholes, Sophie Scholes, Hudson Scholes, Austin Scholes, Alek (Caitlyn) Biggs, Dr. Elizabeth (Rob Wilson) Biggs, James Ballinger, Garrett Ballinger, Alison Ballinger, Bennett Ballinger, Arbor Gray and Nadia Gray.
She was preceded in death by; her parents; husband; grandson, Doug Kline; brothers, Vernon Scholes and Herbert Scholes; sisters, Eileen Gatewood, Bernice Pasley, Velma Seaton and Rosalie Cox.
