Sylvia Guevara Obituary

Graveside services for Sylvia Guevara, age 77 of Seminole, Texas, will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Gaines County Cemetery with Pastor Gilbert Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery. All services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.

Mrs. Guevara was born on November 11, 1947 in Junction, Texas to Inosente (Munoz) and Ventura Trevino. She married Carlos Guevara in Seminole, Texas in 1981. She was a Christian who loved serving God. Sylvia was a homemaker and loved her family and grandchildren; there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. She was feisty and a fighter, due to being a strong woman who would do anything for anyone if needed.

Sylvia Guevara passed away at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas on Monday, July 7, 2025. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Carlos Guevara, on April 4, 2025; one son, John Castillo; one granddaughter, and one sister. She is survived by two daughters, Lupe Castillo of Seminole, and Inocente Urias and husband David of Fort Worth, Texas; five sisters, Alice Carion of Fredericksburg, Texas, Mary Zamora of Eunice, New Mexico, Anita Hernandez and husband Silvester of Joshua, Texas, and Hilda Alvarez and husband Leo, and Ginny Palomo and husband Jose, both of Seminole; eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren.
