She was born July 21, 1944 to the late Vance and Eva Glover in Dunn, NC. She graduated from Dunn High School. She was an avid golfer, loved traveling and spending time with her great grandchildren and also enjoyed shag dancing with her loving husband, Robert Parker, in Myrtle Beach, SC prior to his passing.
Sylvia leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Sandy Pope and husband Russell of Sneads Ferry, NC and Susan Pennington and husband Kary of Dunn; grandson, John Aaron Harold and wife Taylor; and great grandchildren, Peyton and Rylee, all of New Bern; step grandchildren, Emily and Aaron of Coats; and her brother, Doug Glover of Dunn.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 17th, 2025 at 11:45 am at Divine Street United Methodist Church, 400 W. Divine Street, Dunn, NC 28334. A visitation of family and friends will take place at 11:00 am prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church. Officiating will be Pastor Jacob Dye.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Divine Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 816, Dunn, NC 28335.
