Tanny Joe Brock, age 64 passed away on Thursday evening, June 26, 2025 at his home in Columbus.
Tanny was born in Martinsville on June 6, 1961 to his parents, the late Rev. Sim F. and Doris J. (Henderson) Brock. Throughout his life, Tanny was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He currently worked as a forklift operator for TA Services. Prior to this, he devoted 27 years as a truck driver for Franklin Power and 18 years as a furnace operator for Nikkei.
Tanny had a passion for music, especially playing the guitar and playing bluegrass music in the Lonesome & Blue band. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished the time spent fishing and hunting, embracing the peace and beauty of nature. Above all, Tanny treasured the moments spent with his family, with a special fondness for his grandchildren, who were a true light in his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of nature, strong faith and devotion to family.
He will be missed by his children, Crystal Brock of Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Amanda Brock and Lindy (Christopher) Pearson of Nashville, Tanya (Mark) Ciesiolka, Kamara Brock and Tanner Brock all of Columbus; siblings, Tim (Teresa) Brock of Trafalgar and Ted Brock of Kurtz, step mother, Bertha Brock of Martinsville; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Tanny was preceded in death by the mothers of his children, Jacqueline Coryea and Kim Brock.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery: 9174 Bean Blossom Road in Brown County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
