On May 7, 2025, Tatyana "Tanya" Carrico, beloved daughter of Louis Carrico and Lynn Finney Carrico; devoted sister of Ivan Carrico; loving granddaughter of Helen Finney and the late Eleanor Mae Carrico; also survived by extended family and friends.
Tanya Carrico wasn't just a former resident who passed through The Palm-she was someone we knew, someone we watched laugh and cry, someone we begged to stay, and someone we rooted for from afar. And now we carry her loss in the stillness she left behind-in the hush between conversations, in the ache beneath remembrance.
Tanya was more than her struggle-she was funny, creative, and had a heart that wanted deeply to heal. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a part of our recovery family, and her presence left an imprint on the hearts of those who knew her.
Her passing is a reminder that addiction continues to take lives every single day. In 2024 alone, over 80,000 people in the U.S. died from an opioid overdose. Each of them-like Tanya-was someone with a name, a story, and people who loved them. These are not just statistics. They are lives cut short.
Let Tanya's passing be a reminder that this disease is real, it is deadly, and it does not discriminate. If you are in recovery, let her memory be your reason to keep going. If you are struggling, please-reach out. To us. To anyone. You are not alone, and you don't have to fight this by yourself.
We will miss Tanya dearly. But we will carry her spirit with us as we fight for our lives-and for the lives of others still caught in the storm.
Tanya will lie-in-state at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church,18310 Middletown Rd, Parkton, MD 21120, on Monday, May 19th, from 10 to 11 AM, at which time a Funeral Mass will begin. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
