Ted was born on December 23, 1963 in San Diego, California to Tom and Mary Ellen Smith. During his childhood, the family lived in various places in Oklahoma but settled in Fairfax where he graduated in 1982.

He married Rae Ann Kelley on May 5, 1988 and was blessed with two sons Joseph and Harley.

During the early years of their marriage Ted worked for several pipeline companies but in 1997 he went to work for Osage County District 3 to stay home with his family.

Ted loved the outdoors, and fishing was his passion. He died doing what he loved.

Ted is survived by his wife Rae Ann of 37 years; his sons Joseph and Harley (Elizabeth); his precious granddaughter Evelyn Rose; parents Tom Smith and Mary Ellen Harding; sisters Susan (Jerry) Franks, Rachel Hutcheson, Sheila Harding, and Stephanie (Mark) Myers; father in law Dale (Jolene) Kelley; and mother in law Sherrall Creek. Along with other aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Sherman and Norma Smith; Joe and Mary Bump; mother-in-law Yvonne Kelley; fathers-in-law James Creek and Jim Harding; also, nephews Austin and Jaxon Franks.

Viewing will be Wednesday, June 4th beginning 3p.m. to 7p.m. at the Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home Chapel in Fairfax. 

Graveside service will be 2p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 where Ted will be laid to rest at the place he loved the most Y Bar Ranch Cemetery, north of Fairfax. Pastor Jay Clapp will officiate.

Pallbearers are Hobie Robertson, Wayne Robertson, Cooper Sherrill, Aaron Cheeves, Scott Feaster, and Johnny Terry. Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Gibson and Mike Burgess.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hunsaker Wooten Funeral Home in Fairfax. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.hunsakerwootenfuneralhome.com
