He was born in Tuscarawas County on December 17, 1938 to the late Rolland H. and Margaret C. "Peggy" (Kleinknecht) Brown and married Janice Reed on June 7, 1959. She survives.
Ted worked for Huprich Floor Covering in Sugarcreek before venturing out on his own installing flooring and painting. Whenever he wasn't working you could find Ted up at Lake Erie enjoying his boat, fishing, and visiting around the campfire.
He grew up attending the Shanesville Lutheran Church in Sugarcreek.
In addition to his wife Janice, he is survived by his daughter Denise (Jason) Mast of Millersburg; son Tim Brown of Berlin; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and his sister Donna Stingel of Sugarcreek.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Voris Stingel.
In keeping with Ted's wishes, cremation will take place and a private burial will take place in East Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to his name to Traditions Hospice 238 front Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
