Teresa Hemple Allen, a beloved daughter of Ferdinand and Catherine Hemple, entered this world on January 26, 1931, in Fulda, Minnesota. She passed away at the age of 94 on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville, Iowa.
Teresa's journey began with a loving family in Fulda. On June 16, 1948, she exchanged vows with Hugh Harding Allen in Avoca, Minnesota. Together, they established their forever home in Estherville, Iowa. Teresa was a faithful parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville, where her spirit of community shone brightly.
Beyond her faith, Teresa had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. She delighted in the quiet challenge of puzzles and had a keen eye for fashion, always enjoying shopping for clothes, shoes, and purses – truly, our "little diva." Yet, her greatest joy and most treasured moments were those spent surrounded by her family.
Teresa's memory will be forever cherished by her loving children: James Allen and his wife, Alica, of Scottdale, Arizona; Susan Smith of Spokane, Washington; LeAnn Busch and her husband, Kevin, of Fulda, Minnesota; Lisa Surfass of Beaufort, North Carolina; and Christy Klun and her husband, Mike, of Lindstrom, Minnesota. She also leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was reunited in death with her beloved husband, Hugh; her three sisters and two brothers; and her son-in-law, Richard J. Smith.
May her gentle soul find eternal peace.
