Teresa Schimmer (Armbruster), 73, of North Platte, Nebraska, left this world on March 18, 2025, probably shaking her head at all the fuss we're making over her, with her loving family at her side. She passed away at home as she wished, but if she had her way, she'd have been snuggled up with her dog, Punk, and her cat, Smokey, watching a football game.

Born on February 9, 1952, in Grant, Nebraska, to Archie and Loretta Armbruster, Teresa grew up in Grant, attended school locally, and graduated from Perkins County High School with the class of 1970. She spent her years working as a bookkeeper, crunching numbers for Ellett's Automotive, Karl's Appliance, and finally, Aupperle Plumbing. She was sharp, reliable, and made sure the numbers added up.

But let's be real: Teresa wasn't defined by her work. She was defined by her love for her family, her ability to make people laugh at just the right moment, her absolutely top-tier fried chicken (seriously, nobody makes it better), her chuckle that would follow most statements, and her die-hard love of football. She was a proud Nebraska Huskers fan, following football and volleyball religiously, but her biggest passion was football and the Kansas City Chiefs! We were thankful she was able to watch the Super Bowl this past year, even if the Eagles made it look like they were playing against kids! (Sorry Gramma, we love you anyway.)

If you were one of her grandkids, you knew her house was the place to be - late nights and sleeping on the living room floor, Christmas presents that somehow always hit the mark, the smell of delicious food filling the air, and the kind of love that made you feel like the most important person in the world.

She was married to Rod Schimmer for over 30 years, and together they raised three kids. While they eventually parted ways, the family they built remained her greatest pride and joy.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Loretta Armbruster, and her brother, Jim Armbruster.

She leaves behind a wild and wonderful bunch who will miss her dearly: her daughter, Jacki (P.J. Niles) Jones of North Platte; her son, Joshua (Chloe Brown) Schimmer of Phoenix, AZ; grandsons Cody Schimmer of North Platte, Joseph (Allison) Peck of Ogallala, Tanner Jones of Kearney, Christopher Bahnsen (Taarna Gray) and Kolton Foran, of North Platte, and Jeremiah Schimmer of Phoenix, AZ; granddaughters Kayla (Tylan Lambertus) Jones of Grand Island, Alyssa Bahnsen (Tietyss Dieter) of Ogallala, Janaya Foran of North Platte, and Addison Schimmer of Phoenix, AZ; great grandsons Ezrah Dieter and Hudson Mikesell-Jones; great-granddaughters Piper and Daytona Jones, Raegan Peck, Racelynn Lambertus, and one on the way, as well as her sister-in-law Nikki Armbruster. She also had an "adopted son" in Willie Roberts, who will be officiating her service, and of course, her beloved Punk and Smokey, who were probably more spoiled than the grandkids. (We forgive you)

A Celebration of Teresa's life will take place at Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in North Platte, NE, with Pastor Willie Roberts leading the way on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. Visitation will also be at Harvest Christian on the same day from 9-10:15. She'll be laid to rest at Grant-Fairview Cemetery in Grant, NE, where we're sure she'll have plenty of jokes to share with those who got there before her. A reception will follow from 2-4 P.M. CT back in North Platte at the Unreel Events Campground/Event Venue - 4684 US-30, North Platte, Nebraska, 69101, across from the fairgrounds. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the family in order to be designated later. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.bullocklongfuneralhome.com <.

Teresa wouldn't want a bunch of sadness, she'd want laughter, good stories, a big plate of fried chicken, and a solid year of Husker football in her honor. She was one of a kind, and boy, will she be missed.
