Terry Elijha Crain, known affectionately to many as "Turkey," was a beacon of light in a world that often needed it. Born on October 29, 1970, in Nevada, Missouri, Terry was a talented, loving, witty, and creative soul who left an indelible mark on everyone he interacted with. His zest for life was infectious, and he lived each day with an unwavering determination to make the most of it. Terry was a self-employed scrap metal junker, a trade that allowed him to exercise his creative prowess and ingenuity. Despite the challenges of his occupation, Terry found joy in his work, often saying that one man's trash is another man's treasure.
Terry was a man who valued family above all else. His love and devotion for his family were evident in the way he strived to keep them close and always have their back. He was a firm believer in the saying, "Family is not an important thing, it's everything." Terry was widowed but had been blissfully married since June 7, 2000. His life was filled with the love and laughter that only a tight-knit family can provide. He was a proud member of the VFW Post 2590, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and shared experiences of fellow veterans. He was also an avid fisherman, finding peace and solace in the quiet moments by the water.
In his lifetime, Terry had the chance to join the navy being stationed in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he would be deployed to join the Gulf War. He moved to Kansas City, Missouri for a short time before settling in Alba, Missouri for the last five years. Ever the helper, Terry was known for lending a hand to anyone in need. His kind spirit, combined with his witty and engaging personality, endeared him to many. Terry's life was a testament to the power of love, the value of family, and the impact one person can make through acts of kindness and generosity.
Terry is survived by his loving mother, Bessie Carpenter, and his devoted brothers, Dustin Crain & Eric Westhoff; sister Heather Crain; Children, Alycia (Henry) Stenson, Easton Blankenship, C.J. (April) Setser; grandchildren, He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Sr., and his beloved spouse, Marie Annette Crain. Services are under the personal care and direction of Simpson Funeral Home.
Terry's life was a tapestry of beautiful moments, woven together with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
