Terry Nation Obituary

Terry Nation of Cheyenne, WY passed away on July 10, 2025. He was born on April 23, 1948, in Owensboro, KY.

Terry married Karen Ann Hearn on September 14, 1968. Karen preceded Terry in death on July 7, 2011.

Terry enlisted during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged shortly thereafter due to an injury. Upon his return home, he and Karen were married and had two children, Eddie & Tonia.

Terry began his career as a customer service rep at Public Service Company of Colorado and through years of hard work, continued education and dedication he built is way up as an electrical engineer, ultimately retiring from Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power/Black Hills Energy in 2015.

Terry was actively involved in his kids’ activities, loved the outdoors, and cherished time with family & friends. Many of the activities he enjoyed include, hockey, camping/hiking, skiing (snow & water), riding his Harley and restoring his 56 Ford F100. His life was filled with lifelong friends, many of which came from his school years and through his Ski Club, Ford Club, Drop-in Hockey League and his valued co-workers.

Terry is survived by his Son Eddie Nation (Susanne), Grandsons Koby Nation and Justin Nation, Daughter Tonia (Nation) Raber, Granddaughters Kaylyn Reeves (Kyla great-granddaughter) and Macie Cortez (Nick) (Tannen great-grandson), Brother Ron Nation, Sisters Teddy Box and Camelia Swift and several nieces and nephews.

Terry is preceded in death by his Wife Karen (Hearn) Nation, Father Royce Nation, Mother Nelma (Kemp) Nation.

A Celebration of Life is being planned. Details will be provided at a later date. In lieu of flowers we are asking for donations in memory of Terry to either of the below. Thank you.
