Terry Underwood Obituary

Terry "Chub" Lee Underwood,72, passed away on July 8, 2025, at Harry S. Truman Veteran's Hospital, surrounded by loved ones.
He was born in Fulton, Missouri on January 4, 1953, to the late William Price "Buddy" Underwood and the late Betty (Salmons) Hook.
On June 20, 1975, Chub was united in marriage to Carolyn (Means) Underwood.
He was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to his family, his country and his community. A proud United States Army veteran, Chub honorably served his country during the Vietnam War, being stationed at Da Nang Air Base from 1970 to 1971.
Over the years, Chub worked for Harbison Walker, was a proud member of Labor Union 662, and spent part of his career with the Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT). As a farmer throughout his entire life, he found great satisfaction working on his farm.
Chub loved being outdoors. Hunting and fishing were among his greatest joys, a passion he carried from a very young age. He also enjoyed finding treasures at garage sales, catching up with friends over coffee, and was a familiar and friendly face at the local VFW Post 2657.
Above all else, Chub cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless happiness.
Chub leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and devotion to his loved ones. Those that remain to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Carolyn; son, Tim Underwood (Kim); brothers, Larry Underwood, Brian Hook; sister, BJ Tripp; grandchildren, Alli Underwood (Zak Stephenson), Layla Underwood, Natalie Underwood, and great grandchild, Lainey Pearl Stephenson.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Dustin Taylor.
Funeral services will be held at Maupin Funeral Home on Monday, July 14, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Mike Crowson officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Callaway Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
