Theresa Lynne Grantz was born on January 23, 1954 in Enid, OK. to O.A. and Janette Grantz. She passed away after a brief illness on June 11, 2025 in Fort Myers, FL.
She attended schools in Missouri as well as Nash, Ok. The family moved to Cement, OK. in 1970. While attending school at Cement she started working at Grady Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide, where she fell in love with nursing. She graduated from Cement, Ok in 1972. She did her undergraduate at the University of Oklahoma then enrolled in St. Anthony's School of nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1977.
Terri married William Mizel on March 4th, 1983, in Stillwater, Ok. As their lives sent them to Chicago, IL. then back to the Dallas area she continued to work in some sort of the nursing field. However, her last job was being the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband's business Comprehensive Safety Resource and later Risk Management Services.
Her son, Chad Allen Douglas was born April 6, 1979 to Kelly and Terri Douglas of Pawnee. She was so proud of his education and the goals he achieved in life. He obtained his Doctrine of Pharmacy at O.U., then went on to get his degree in Medicine at O.U. as well. He is now the Assistant Professor Medical Director of Didactic Education at the O.U. College of Medicine.
Her pride and joy soared to new heights with the birth of her twin grandchildren Luke and Hannah Douglas. She enjoyed keeping up with their busy school years, as well as their other summer activities which included Boy Scouts for both of them.
In 2021 Terri and Bill made their dreams come true and moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Their condo right on the beach entertained many family get togethers, which she loved hosting. On September 28, 2022 their home was hit by Hurricane Ian. They persevered and just got their condo completely redone the first of this year. It was a home she was so proud of.
Terri leaves behind her husband William (Bill) Mizel of Ft. Myers Beach, Fl. Her son Chad Douglas of Edmond, Ok., daughter-in-law and husband Rae Lynn & Heath Payton, her two grandchildren Luke and Hannah Douglas all of Moore, Ok. Sister and favorite brother-in-law Laura and Danny Jones of Hobart, Ok. One niece Danielle Tyner, great nephews Hunter, Hayden and Hudson and great niece Hailey all of Yukon, Ok. Mother-in-law JoAnn Mizel of Fl., brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tom and Debbie Mizel, nephew Kris, and nieces Kellie and her son Karter, and Kourtney of Fl., sister-in-law Peggy Mizel of IL, nephew Eric Mizel and wife Kara of LA. Special lifelong friends Mike and Maureen Buergler of Arlington, TX, as well as host of relatives, neighbors, and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother Danny Wayne Grantz, 1 niece Laura April Jones, and father-in-law Thomas Mizel.
