Theresa E. Trahan, lovingly known as "Nannie," passed away peacefully on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Oak Village Nursing Home in Lake Jackson, Texas. She was 96 years old.
Born Theresa Boudoin on October 14, 1928, in Kaplan, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Drozien Boudoin and Evena Thibodeaux. On October 31, 1951, she married the love of her life, Preston Trahan, and together they built a beautiful life. In 1965, they moved from Louisiana to Texas, where they would spend the rest of their years together. After Preston's passing in 2001, Theresa found companionship with Lloyd Thibodeaux. The two shared a special bond and were engaged for 22 years.
Theresa was a talented hairdresser and proudly served her community for 45 years. She owned and operated Theresa's Beauty Shop, first in Oyster Creek and later in Angleton. Though she and Preston had no children of their own, they were second parents to many nieces and nephews, who lovingly called her "Nannie Theresa."
She had a passion for cooking, dancing, sewing, and singing, and she especially cherished the summers spent with family in Louisiana. Her kind heart and nurturing spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Preston Trahan; her parents, sister Nolia Landry, 3 sister-n-laws, 4 brother-in-laws and; her in-laws Adlar and Ruth Trahan.
She is survived by her sisters, Louise Vincent and Jan Perrin (Jess); her brother, Dudley Boudoin; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Stroud Funeral Home, 538 Brazosport Blvd N, Clute, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., with interment at Angleton Cemetery.
