Thomas "Mike" Burnaman, a cherished member of his community, passed away on July 9, 2025, in Nederland, Texas, at the age of 70. Born on February 25, 1955, in Port Arthur, Texas, Mike devoted 43 years of his life to serving as a Process Operator at Motiva, exemplifying dedication and hard work throughout his esteemed career.
Mike was not only known for his commendable work ethic but also for his deep-rooted commitment to family. A proud graduate of Nederland High School, Class of 1973, he was very family oriented and found great joy in spending time on the family property in Milam, Texas. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included hunting and fishing, activities he enjoyed sharing with those closest to him.
Mike is survived by his beloved lady friend, Jacqui James of Nederland, and his cherished children, son Brian Burnaman and his wife Esmeralda of Groves, and daughter Jenna Dean and her husband Josh of Nederland. He was a proud grandfather, leaving behind a legacy through his grandchildren: Matthew Burnaman, David Burnaman, Jett Dean, Noah Burnaman, and Jentry Dean. Mike is also survived by his brother, Gregg Burnaman of Port Arthur, and numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
In his passing, Mike is reunited with his parents, Thomas and Bessie Burnaman, and his siblings, Pam Parker, David Burnaman, and Greta Burnaman, who have all predeceased him. Their memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects during the visitation on July 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Melancon Levingston Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H, Nederland, Texas. The funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location, offering an opportunity for all to celebrate the life of a truly remarkable individual.
Mike Burnaman will be remembered not only for his unwavering devotion to his family and career but also for his abiding love for the outdoors, which brought him immense joy throughout his life. His legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
