Thomas Allen Greenwood, age 69 of Flora, Illinois passed away peacefully at 9:11 am, Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Tom was born on October 19, 1955 to Rolla "Shug" and Nora (Flexter) Greenwood, in Flora Community Hospital. Thomas grew up in flora and built a beautiful and successful life. Tom was preceded in death on 06/11/25 to join his mother: Nora; father: Shug of Flora; sister: Alice Zimmer of Colorado; nephews: John and Michael Greenwood of Florida.

Tom is survived by his wife: Connie Greenwood of Flora; siblings: Judy Baity of Flora, Richard "Dick" (Daryl) Greenwood of Florida, Irvin Zimmer of Colorado; 7 children: Benjamin Greenwood of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Bethany Greenwood of Princeton, Illinois, Eric (Amanda) Bright of Atlanta, Georgia, Topper Eastin of Flora, Logan (Deonna) Hargis of Clay City, Travis (Kristy) Hargis of Florida, Sean Young of Florida. Grandchildren Kyle Gragert, Madison Eastin, Quenton Greenwood, Paisley Eastin, Briar Eastin, Evie Hargis, Emmy Hargis, Lynnlee Hargis, Linux Hargis, Ella Greenwood and Gracie Colclasure; 1 great-grandson: Fylnn Gragert; several nieces and nephews; his band members that he thought of as family; Josh (Lori) Phillips of Louisville, Matthew (Bethany) Lovett of Flora, and Richard Tucker of Flora, together they became the "Benefits"

Thomas owned and operated Greenwood Pest Control, and was able to serve the community in their pest control needs for 35 years, until his retirement in 2023. Thomas married Connie L. Persinger on March 3, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada, they have now shared 23 years of life, love, and family together.

Tom was a musical genius who could play literally any instrument that was placed in his hands. Tom had many different bands that he has organized over the years. All the way from rock&roll, country, and gospel. Music was Tom's life, he helped heal people through his music and artistry. Tom used his talents to give back to others, he organized benefits for people in need and was always ready to lend a helping hand and heart. To put it simply, Tom touched many through his music and ministry.

Tom is a member of the First Christian Church in Flora, and has been a long standing member of their "Praise Group". Tom was also a member of the Bethlehem Christian Church in Flora. Tom was a man of God, and truly wanted to bring others closer to Christ. Tom also was an assistant leader of the Boy Scouts of America, and had led an amazing example for many young men. He assisted in trips to Philmont including donations that helped more kids be able to take a trip of a lifetime. The kids would learn about nature, teamwork, and faith from Tom and the other leaders. Tom loved nature and being outdoors.

Graveside services to celebrate Tom's life will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, Illinois with Jerry Kizzire officiating. Everyone attending the services are asked to meet at the cemetery just prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to assist with expenses.
