Thomas William Clarence Hawk, age 75, lifelong resident of Shelby, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the Willows of Willard, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 29, 1950, in Shelby to the late Wilbert and Peggy (Watkins) Hawk. He graduated from Shelby High School in 1968. Following high school, Thomas began working for The Autocall Company in Shelby in the shipping and receiving department. He worked for Autocall for over 30 years, before retiring in 2001. After his time at Autocall, he worked in a part-time capacity for a variety of businesses including Hi-State Manufacturing, MTD Products Corporation, and Quality Tech Dental Lab.

Thomas was passionate about the game of baseball and about making it accessible to children. This passion led him to volunteer for the Shelby Little League, where he wore a variety of different hats in his 12 years of service - particularly as a coach and board member. As a board member for the Shelby Little League he served as President for five years. He served in this position dutifully and with great pride. He was also a longtime American Legion Post O'Brien #326 member, a place he made many friends with over the years.

As a Shelby Alumni, he always kept up with Shelby athletics. His favorite sports to follow locally were baseball, football, and basketball. Aside from high school sports, he loved to root for the Cleveland Indians, Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeye Football and Basketball teams. He loved watching on t.v. or in person, dirt track racing. His love for watching dirt track racing was so profound that it caught the attention of his son, Thomas, and was something that they grew to enjoy watching together. Above his fondness of sports was the love he held for his family. Some of his favorite memories involved family gatherings, where they spent time together playing cards and other games.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Pamela Hawk, whom he wed on October 1, 1983; son, Thomas W. Hawk; brother, Dwight Hawk, sister, Mary Jo Hawk, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvyn Hawk, and sister, Geraldine Uplinger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shelby Little League at P.O. Box 126 Shelby, OH 44875 or the Shelby Athletic Boosters in care of Cathy Dodge at 145 Mansfield Ave. Apt 7, Shelby, OH 44875.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
