Thomas "Tom" Patrick Johnson, age 81, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Clarksville, Indiana. He was born on May 21, 1944, to Joseph and Mary Johnson in Louisville, Kentucky.
Tom was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He worked for many years as a forklift operator, but his heart was always on the farm — tending to his cattle and embracing the quiet, steady rhythm of country life. He found joy in the simple things and lived with a calm, contented spirit that touched everyone around him.
Known for his laid-back demeanor and sense of humor, Tom was a sweetheart to all who knew him. He had a gift for storytelling and an impressive memory, often sharing tales from the past for family and friends alike. Though soft-spoken, his presence was strong and comforting.
In his free time, Tom loved cheering on his beloved UK Wildcats, listening to talk radio, and carefully crafting model cars and trains. He found happiness in his own pursuits and seeing others laugh, smile, and enjoy life as much as he did.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Johnson and Mary Peake Johnson; sister, Doris Dickson; and 2 brothers-in-law, Doug Dickson and Roger Broughton.
Left to cherish his memory, Tom is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Jacquelyn Johnson; 3 sisters, Martha Thomas (Greg), Joyce Broughton, and Sharon Rowe (Murl); and a host of nieces/nephews/cousins and close friends.
A service for Mr. Thomas Johnson will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Louisville Memorial Gardens West Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11 AM at the funeral home, prior to the service.
