Langdon, Thomas R., of Flushing, age 80, died Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Monday, July 14, 2025, at St. Robert Catholic Church in Flushing, with Fr. Christian Salata officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather from 4pm-8pm on Sunday, July 13 at Rossell Funeral Home, with a Rosary prayed at 7pm. Visitation will also be held at 10:00am on Monday at the church until the time of Mass.
Tom was born in Flint, Michigan on December 27, 1944, the son of the late Foster Roy and Gladys (Borgstrom) Langdon. On May 8, 1981, in Flint, Michigan, he married Mary J. Poli. This was the beginning of a lifelong partnership, where he was more than a husband, but was a best friend, a constant companion, and the steady heart of his family. Tom retired from the Buick Motor Division, but his work never truly ended. He dedicated his time coaching his daughters' softball teams and taking on the role of a father to many. He had a way of making everyone feel like family by being welcoming, supportive, and always present. Tom loved NASCAR, reading, and good conversation. He was also always up for playing a game of pool. A natural teacher, he never missed an opportunity to pass on knowledge, especially to his grandchildren, who often walked away with a new word. Tom was supportive in his family's faith journey, joining them in 2015 in their Catholic faith. He and Mary were devoted members of St. Mary's in Swartz Creek for many years.
Tom is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; children, Michelle Bobb, Angela (Craig Taylor) Jones and Brian (Sarah) Langdon; grandchildren, Danielle, Sydney (Shawn), Rhyan, Darian, Hannah, Alois, Matthew, Dakoda, Zachary, Emily, Jacob and Jessica; great-grandson, Hudson; extended children, Shawni, Alishea and TJ; extended grandson, Jack Marsh and extended great-grandson, Ace; sister, Carol (Vince) Schumacher; special cousin, Ruth Ann (Keith) Jordan and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Steven Langdon; parents, Roy and Gladys Langdon; parent-in-laws, Dale and Myrle Poli and sister, Kay Soule.
If desired, donations in Tom's memory are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

My friend Tom was more than 30 years my senior, yet he somehow understood me in ways very few my own age ever have.

At Tom's house, the worries of our crazy lives took a back seat and I found real connection... the type we too often miss in today´s busy world.

In addition to all the comforts of home, I treasured our visits knowing Tom´s ever-sharp wit would greet me at his dining room table.

With Tom, it seemed like nothing was off-limits. We´d talk politics, religion... sometimes he´d even sprinkle in some local real estate expertise and go completely over my head... yet somehow keep me engaged and always leave me more educated or enlightened.

When I needed to vent or get some something off my chest, Tom was there. If I had some crazy idea, he would usually entertain it... for a while. In fairness, some of us got to repay that favor, too. :)

As we kept in touch over the years, his random emails were always thought provoking and frequently the highlight of my day.

Tom is already dearly missed. I wish his family and friends the best.
