NEWPORT-Thomas J. Pratt, 73, went home to be with the Lord with his loving family by his side on June 28, 2025, in Bangor.

Born on December 13, 1951, in Niagara Falls, New York, Tom was the son of the late William and Evelyn (Charbonneau) Pratt Sr. On April 27, 1973, he married the love of his life, Melanie, and together they built a home rooted in laughter, faith, and love.

Tom spent many years in the papermaking industry, where his hard work and dedication led him to a supervisory role. Later in life, he worked for a time at Hillview Mini Barns. In his retirement, he found great purpose and much joy in helping his son, Gabriel, at the Pratt Family Greenhouse. He approached every job with a strong work ethic and a generous heart.

A gifted storyteller and a man of deep faith, Tom was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith and a family grounded in the love of Jesus.

Tom will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Melanie Pratt and 13 children: Theresa Bustamante and husband Victor, Sarah Branaugh, Brian Pratt, Andrea Graybill and husband Les, David Pratt and wife Autumn, Benjamin Pratt, Renee Shafer and husband Ryan, James Pratt and wife Renae, Gabriel Pratt, Hannah Hade and husband Brandt, Stephanie Shafer and husband Jared, Catherine Pratt, and Mary-Margaret Remeika and husband Paul; 28 grandchildren: Rayghan, Tanner and Liliana Bustamante, James, Mattea and Joseph Branaugh, Meagan McCready and husband Riley, Kendra, Rylee, Addisen, Briden and Ireland Pratt and their mother Lindsey Davis Pratt, Alexander, Chloe, Anja and Micaiah Graybill, Jack and Lily Pratt and step-grandchildren: Tobias and Jaydon Savage, Leo, Ian and Alec Shafer, Joshua, Micah and Luke Pratt, Ariya Hade, and Alana Shafer; 4 siblings: William Pratt Jr. and wife Joanne, Robert Pratt and wife Maureen, Kathy Ivey and significant other Dave Chabot, and Brian Pratt and wife Diane; and several nieces and nephews.
