Thomas M. Shields of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Boothwyn, PA, passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on October 14, 1950, and raised in Linwood, Thomas was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1968, and worked for PECO for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Chester Heights and previously attended Holy Savior/St. John Fisher in Linwood.
Thomas enjoyed golfing, playing shuffleboard, and telling bad jokes. However, what he enjoyed most was watching Penn State football on Saturdays in the fall with his family and friends. In recent years, he would sing karaoke or perform as Frank Sinatra. He was a member of the St. James Alumni Choir and the St. Thomas the Apostle Church Choir. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren, and he always attended their sporting events and stage performances.
He left behind, to cherish his memories, his wife of 53 years, Denise (née Giampietro) Shields; his daughters, Nicole Anderson (Peter) and Jackie Ceribelli (Joe); his son, Ryan Shields (Kate); his brothers, Teddy, Terry, and Thaddeus Shields; and his loving grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Michael, Kayla, Colin, Caroline, Patrick, Vincent, Anthony, and Giovanna.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Mary Shields; his brothers, Timmy and Todd Shields; and his sisters, Trina Clark and Margaret Anne Shields.
Visitation: Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 8:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church, 4225 Chichester Ave, Boothwyn, PA 19061. Funeral Mass: Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Fisher Church. Burial: Private. In lieu of flowers: Donations can be made in Thomas's name to the St. James Alumni Association at 1499 East 9th St. Eddystone, PA 19022 or go to stjbulldogs.org for more details.
