It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tim Huth, Sr. of Ormond Beach, FL, on July 2nd, 2025, at the age of 74.
Tim was a devoted husband to Charmaine for 52 years; a loving father to Timmy and Heidi; a proud grandfather to Joey and Minh; a beloved brother to Barbara, Jerry, Chris and Tracy; and an adored uncle, mentor and friend to many. His greatest joy was his family, and his greatest legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched in the community.
Tim dedicated more than 36 years to education, beginning his career as a high school teacher, teaching physical education and driver's ed, coaching the boys' swimming and tennis teams, and serving as athletic director at Mainland High School. He went on to become principal at both Holly Hill Middle School and Mainland High School, eventually rising to serve as area superintendent and later deputy superintendent of the Volusia County School District. Even after retirement, Tim remained active in the community, mentoring new administrators and volunteering his time to support school programs, including being the voice of Mainland High School Football as the WNDB 93.5 FM broadcaster.
He always believed, "It's not what you know, it's who you know," and few knew and remembered people the way Tim did-never forgetting a name and never missing a chance to connect. He proudly served on the Checkered Flag Committee as Chairman, Halifax Health Public Relations Committee, and the Embassy of Hope Foundation, among many other community organizations. He received presidential recognition for educational excellence from President George H.W. Bush in 1992, President Bill Clinton in 1995, and President George W. Bush in 2002. Tim will be remembered not just for his leadership and service but also for cherishing life's small pleasures-a good golf game, good books, clean cars, backyard birds, and cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, and for his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, WWII Veteran Lt. James C. Huth, USN, and Mary, as well as his brothers, Jimmy and Roger.
A viewing will be held at 9-10 AM on Wednesday, July 9th, 2025, followed by a 10 AM Funeral Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Futures Foundation.
The care of Timothy Huth is under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, 386-673-1100.

Tim, a most special person, mentor, friend, administrator, boss, leader, where do the superlatives end, I don´t know. He was a hero to me and I respected him greatly. A "for sure" part of my life and losing him will leave an empty spot that won´t be filled for me and countless others as Tim was special to so many.

Tim always carried out his duties in the various roles I knew him professionally with warmth, humor and the mindset of putting students needs first. He was a first class educator and one many looked up to. His legacy with Volusia County Schools will long be remembered.

My heart is saddened by the news of Coach Huth´s passing. I remember him as my swim coach as a kid but even better was meeting back up with him as an adult. We enjoyed talking about educational issues and my husband and I were looking forward to many more chances to be together since we are officially snowbirds! I am joyful that I was blessed to have Coach Huth touch my life over these many years! A heartfelt hug and sincerest sympathy to Char and the family during this very sad time. May God Bless you and provide love, solace, and understanding during this difficult time. Love, Susan (Monte) & Stephen Strader

I first met Mr. Huth when I was a student at MHS. Mr. Huth became our AP while I was teaching at HHJH. When I entered the Educational Leadership, Mr. Huth became my mentor. We were all happy to have Mr. Huth as our Principal, and were sad to see him move to Mainland to lead there. When I became a Principal, Mr. Huth was leading from the District Office. What a great man. Mr. Huth was always positive and led by example. RIP

Mr. Huth, the world is less bright without you here. I can't thank you enough for saving my life. You believed in me and saw things in me that even I couldn't see. You gave me a chance to leave behind a life I shouldn't have been a part of and you believed in me enough to push me towards a life you knew I needed. You've always been my hero and I wish I would have had the chance to tell you just how much you affected my life. Your family will always be in my prayers as will you. Rest easy and know that you left behind a beautiful legacy. Thank you for everything.

You saved my life, literally and metaphorically. You will forever be the greatest man God ever breathed life into, and our hearts will forever be missing a piece because it will be in Heaven with you. I know the blessings that awaited you were many, as you have been a blessing for every person you come in contact with. You will forever be the father God brought me when I most desperately needed one, and not a day will go by that I will not miss you and think of you. All of my love to Char, TJ, Heidi, Joey and Minh. May God bless and keep them always.
