Timothy Pelley Obituary

Timothy Howard Pelley, 71, of Wheeling passed away on Wednesday August 6, 2025 at home.

He was born in Wheeling on September 8, 1953, son of the late Howard W. and Freda (Brandtner) Pelley.

He was an avid bowler who had several 300 games and an avid golfer with multiple holes-in-one. He was a devoted father / buddy to his cat Oliver and uncle to his nephew puppy Rocket. In the 1970's he was a founding member of the local band "Crystal Ball" and was a wedding DJ for over 25 years. After retiring from Tecno Cap after 30+ years he began his retirement job at Crispen Golf Course where he met, golfed with, and enjoyed so many people for 16 years. His truck was recognized instantly by his license plate "MAXSPAP".

His latest passion in life was watching Youtube videos to find recipes to experiment on his Blackstone Griddle, and of course Tim loved a bargain. Following in his Mother's footsteps, he was a bird watcher and feeder. He had numerous bird feeders surrounding his house along with bird cams.

Tim never met a stranger and always found the best in everybody. He was the first to offer help, mentor young people and was the honorary Mayor of Skyview Estates and was an obsessed lawn care specialist who never allowed dandelions.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Delite White.

He is survived by his wife Sue (Hawkins) Pelley; son Brian (Kelly) George; grandchildren, Noah, Max, Molly and Sister-in-law Sandy (Don) Schafer.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Tim's life at a memorial visitation on Saturday August 9, 2025, from 2 pm – 4 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).
